State Employees’ Credit Union is known as SECU. Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, it is a state-chartered credit union in North Carolina. The Department of Commerce’s Credit Union Division oversees the union. Applications for the SECU Foundation Continuing Education Scholarship for 2024 are now being accepted. The purpose of this scholarship program is to help students who want to improve their talents or extend their studies by removing financial obstacles.
The organization established a platform. The goal of the 2019 SECU Bridge to Career Program is to completely remove financial barriers for students, unemployed or underemployed adults, veterans of the armed forces, and members of the National Guard who want to obtain credentials that are recognized by the state or industry and have marketable job skills. The program’s supporters believe that this will enable them to pursue sustainable wage careers in their local communities.
SECU Financial Aid
The charity awards scholarships to college and high school students for $1,250 and $5,000 each semester, respectively. The scholarship grant is remarkably renewed for a second year. For additional information, any interested students should get in touch with the Continuing Education Department at their neighborhood NC Community College.
The SECU foundation program has been used to identify and address the majority of community issues. The foundation’s main goal is to support local and community development in North Carolina by funding significant initiatives related to housing, healthcare, education, and human services.
High School Scholarship Program
Under the slogan “people helping people,” SECO’s scholarship program aims to support public high school students in North Carolina who want to pursue four years of college education. Each of the roughly 115 education agencies in North Carolina will get at least one scholarship, worth an estimated $10,000. The University of North Carolina requires this amount to be paid in installments over the course of eight semesters, mostly for seniors.
Note: The Scholarship Selection Committee will choose the recipients of this award, but first they must determine that the applicant meets all eligibility requirements.
Since the Scholarship Selection Committee at each LEA is required to provide all scholarship candidate information, the Foundation does not assess individual applications.
The Scholarship Program for Community Colleges
The purpose of the two-year SECU Foundation community college scholarship program is to assist students enrolled in any of the community institutions under the North Carolina Community College System. There are 116 two-year scholarships worth $5,000 apiece up for grabs in this community college program.
Each community college in North Carolina will receive two scholarships as part of the scholarship program, amounting to a maximum annual financial commitment of $580,000 to the community college system as a whole.
Pupils who get less financial aid are more likely to be chosen because they are given precedence. Additionally, candidates whose parents or other family members work in the public sector and reside in North Carolina will also be given preference.
This is applicable to full-time students participating in associate’s, diploma, or certificate programs who have finished their high school education or at least the General Education Development (GED) program.
Additionally, recipients of the scholarship for academic excellence may do so for a maximum of four semesters in a row; however, they must enroll in at least 12 credit hours each semester.
